“Da...”
That single syllable was enough to stir the vampire from his slumber. Green eyes opened to peer up at the very large face hovering over him and blocking out the light of the late afternoon sun beyond the mountain outcrop they were resting beneath.
There was pained look in the features of that face and the wide eyes gave off a golden glow, bright and frenzied.
That also told him that something was off...
Killian's eyes rarely went gold these days.
Garrett rubbed a hand over his face, patiently pushing himself up from his bedroll while the Faron remained crouched over him.
“Having bad dreams again?” He look

The magnate's words were cut off by a silver dagger as it lodged in his throat, replaced by a sickening, gargle-like sound as his body fell limp. The wine bottle in his hands fell to the carpet with a muted thud and rolled away from the corpse, stopping against the weathered leather of the assassin's boot.
The hooded figure knelt to pick it up, handing the bottle with care as he looked over the object for a moment. The dark glass bore numerous superficial cracks, and was covered in caked-on grime and smudges from centuries of changing hands with no one bothering to clean it. There was no label, nor any sign of one having
“HI DADDY!” Mandy loudly greeted the Gharzav as she rushed to the door, grinning up at her father as he reached the human-sized doorway.
“Hello, Mandy. Is everything okay?”
“EVERYTHING IS FINE!” She answered, before clearing her throat, “So... How’d the trip go?”
“Hmm...” He inched closer, but instead of moving back to let him in she stayed put, blocking the doorway. “It was just a trip to pay some bills and buy some groceries, nothing much to report,” He shrugged, “Gonna let me in?”
“What? Oh! Yeah, I’ll LET YOU IN!” She stepped ba
Killian blinked in surprise at the text; Mandy rarely asked for rides, preferring to walk home even late at night. Was something wrong?
He shot off the text as he started walking, groaning at the sudden shift from his warm-but-bearable apartment to the sweltering outdoors. Like most giants, he didn't have much of a tolerance for high temperatures, and the July heat was a force to be reckoned with. Thankfully the clinic was only a short walk away for him, and the instant she saw him Mandy ran to meet him.
"Sorry for dragging you out here," She apologized as he knelt to offer her a hand.
"Is everythin' okay?" She did seem even paler than usu
“Why did I listen to you?!” Josh screeched, half-dragging Mandy through the side streets. From the guttural snarling and occasional shakes of the earth, it was clear their pursuer was still hot on their heels. The side streets were safer, since the giant couldn’t follow them through such small passages, but that didn’t mean he wouldn’t stop to stock an arm in if they didn’t stay on the move.
“How was I supposed to know Tyre would be there?!” She huffed, “This way, I know a shortcut!”
“Shortcut to where?”
She turned her head to answer, but in the same instant she slamme

One More Night (Part 1)
Worry creased Killian's brow as he gazed at the town in the distance, still waiting for his father's return. He'd been gone for hours now on what was supposed to be a simple job... what was taking so long? He couldn't remember the last time he'd been away so long for a covert operation, especially not a simple one...
The young Faron sighed as he glanced up at the sky, dimly lit by a sliver of moonlight and a speckling of stars. It seemed somehow empty... or maybe it was just him. Since Garrett had adopted him, he wasn't used to being alone for any great length of time; usually he went along with the Gharzav on his missions, but this one invo
